Hello Everyone,

I just did this to 3 of my Maxijet 1200s in my 55gal. and it really works well! http://www.geocities.com/nivenboug/Cutmaxijets.html
I cut the nozzles off and it really did change directions on the wavemaker. The flow is much more dispersed and random. I think the flow increased some also. If you have a wavemaker and Maxijets I would definately recommend this if you want more random flow.

I've seen that before and wondered if it really worked. Now I know someone I trust that says it does. I may try that.

I was skeptical at first also but figured I would try it on an old one. One on each side and one in the middle creates very turbulant flow in my 55. Now if they only had some largers sizes for the 110.

I wonder what the flow would do even if it is not on a wavemaker? I may have to try it.

It would just flow one way until you unpluged it and pluged it back in and then it may go the other way. It is the on and off that causes the impeller to change directions. Basically the impeller can go either direction when it is started but keeps going that direction until the power goes off.

Don't know. They should though. One thing I wonder about is how much it cuts down on the flow.

I guess they cut it down some. I have one maxijet 1200 in my tank and one 900. I am going to upgrade the 900 to a 1200, and use these rotating outputs on both.
