Just a quick update.

Petsmart has 200 gallon buckets of instant ocean online for $28 you can printout the page and take it to the retail store and they will honor it.

On a side note, I have recently switched to Oceanic salt and very much like it. Much higher concentration of calcium right off the bat.

I got a bucket of Oceanic Friday. Just mixed it up this morning and will be doing a water change in a day or so. Haven't tested it yet, will do that tommorow.

What was the calcium level in your Oceanic mix Rob? I've read that most are reporting 450 or so.

Well how about I am not sure. LOL

I did not test the water until after I mixed it into my i.o. water in my system. It pulled me from 250 to 390 though, so I was extremly happy!

Sounds good. I have to say though that ever since the big crystal seas movement I'm kind of scared to switch salt brands. Cloudiness and bleaching, it all makes me nervous.

Just kidding.

I changed out 20 gal earlier this AM - Lights are just now coming on and everything looks good, so far.

I would be interested in a couple of pails if a group buy is on the horizon.

I am gonna take a trip out to that fish place in pancaster in the next week or 2 I believe.

$40 a bucket, I am gonna buy what I can carry back.

If there is a better option I am all for it.

I switched to the Oceanic Salt when it first came out and had been using Instant Ocean before that. I was leary of mixing brands but everything turned out great. Actually things visiably improved in my tanks.

Rob, that is what i usually do. I make a trip to TFP once a year and stock up on salt. When your buying several pails it makes the trip worth it. Plus i usually meet afew other reefers from another forum and we make a day of it doing lunch and the store tour.

Dang Chuck, a years worth of salt at one time? That's a lot of salt!!! Does TFP provide you with a personal shopper, free cocktails, etc?

A years worth of water changes is only 2 buckets for me. Now if i keep setting up tanks than i have to go a second time. :) I wish they would give me a personal shopper. Those 200g buckets kill my puny arms.
