Inland has approx 45,000 gallons of water. They are one of the largest in the Midwest if not the largest. They are overpriced but a hell of a lot of fun to go and mess around there, they have so much to look at. Morgan is the owner and he usually talks at MACNA and places like that, he knows a lot, he is a Biologist, not marine but there are few in the world, as it is not easy to get.

Directions:
70 West towards St. Louis
Go to the second exit. Exit 7
Hang a right onto 3rd street aka 41, (head north)
Go until you see a Wendy's (approx 8-10 miles) at that light hang a Left go to First Street, hang a Right. You will pass Honda/Toyota on left go past first light then at the first open median approx 100 feet past light hang a left go straight 200-300 feet hang a left, you will see it there big Pole Barn looking building. We can meet in the parking lot and sing a song then go in and have a look-se

Hope this helps. I will contact Morgan today and make it for the 24th.

reeftechie - what? ;) Thank you for taking the initiative and getting that done and setup. It is appreciated. Think they will throw in some complimentary coral frag samples??? :D ;)

I think someone said they are a bit higher priced, just wondering what that range would be. I am just looking to get some nice colorfull zoos (some REALLY colorfull ones if I can) as all I can find around here are brownish/hint of orange. Ooooooo, aaaaaahhh, brown..... The places also ask for $35-40 for a small covered rock of them. Would it be much more than that for some nice ones do you think?

Don't know about carpooling for me, as I have a bit of a drive coming from Fort Wayne and am not from around Indy. I've always wanted to have a personal tour of a place like that so it is worth it to me, and if I can get some killer looking zoos (maybe a few shrooms too :D ) hey, it's only a 2-3 hour drive. Though if anybody wants to go from anywhere around the Fort Wayne area, let me know, we can split gas cost. :)

Would we just be meeting there at noon then?

shaw
07/11/2004, 01:00 AM
I am pretty sure i could get a few guys in my truck. but i have to make a pit stop at a friends house to pick up a few tanks.
shawn

reeftechie
07/11/2004, 01:03 AM
Not a problem at all castor :D glad to do it. I love the place. Nothing like looking at 35,000 gallons of water.

There prices are HIGH! but its all good, if you want QUALITY FISH that eat and dont die then you buy from them. They are great for softies so you will find some killer zoos, typically $20-$40 for a nice size piece. I bet they will give us some deals since we are going to make a tour trip they are really nice guys around there.

They are hopefully going to get some killer acros as soon as they set up there new SPS tanks, but they are SLOOOOOOW, my god come to think of it they have had the tanks for 5 months and a reactor not sure what the heck is taking them so long.

Well I have rambled on enough, So I will see you all there around Noon on the 24th :D

Cheers,
RT

Looking at rearanging plans now... ;)

How long would this tour be approximately?

reeftechie
07/12/2004, 08:34 AM
we can make it as long as we want it to be. They close at 7pm so if we get there at noon, we can take a tour for a couple of hours, and then go out and have lunch at applebees or something like that if you all want, and work on club things while having a beer and some food :D

Dolfan0925
07/12/2004, 11:16 AM
I'm definitely going, I'm in Cincinnati so if someone needs a ride and is between there and here I can pick up. Didn't know if it was further than Indy or not Fran. BTW I don't know any of you or where you guys have your clubs or where Inland is so a PM would be appreciated. I heard about your field trip from Lonnie in Cincy. There may be a few more going too. So if anyone needs a lift speak now because the car might fill up!

BTW THANKS! for putting this on, sounds like it'll be alot of fun:)

Hey reeftechie, did you give inland an estimate of about how many people to expect? This coming weekend FWMAS is having their meeting (maybe, if not there is going to be a coral fragging workshop then) and I was thinking of bringing this trip up to them and see if anybody wanted to come along with me and split the cost of gas. Would anybody object if I did? I guess I just don't know if there is going to be a bit of a limit to the number of people going.
