Do any DRC members want to go in on a purchase of some generic Rowa Phos with me, I just spoke to kendalls from R/C, he is willing to sell (and deliver to the next meeting) a 36lb tub of generic rowa for $350 (less than $10 per pound is an incredible price, one lb = roughly 455 grams), this product is the identical substance in Rowa Phos, , he also has a super nice collection of huge sps frags for sale at very reasonable prices (he deals in corals). LMK if anyone is interested >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jim K

Put me in too, I was going to get some from him anyway, but just getting it at the meeting sounds much simpler.

Jim I have an interest in those SPS coral frags. Is there a link to see what he has availible? I would have been all over the generic Rowa purchase but I just bought a tub of the real deal two months ago. This stuff lasts a really long time in the aquarium. I think I have over 2 years worth of it already.

have you guys had any negative affects on your corals?, there is some talk in the sps forum of people using too much of this stuff in low-nutrient aquariums and that it works too well, removing all phos guard before in a bag in my sump - now I converted one of of the phosphate and causing bleaching - not being alarmist, I just started running rowa on my tank this week (I was using those "tap water purifiers" to a carbon and rowa phos filter using a bunch of filter floss inbetween,....) but I think I'm safe b/c I have such a slow flow rate through it and with a heavy fish load, I have a pretty constant supply of phosphates :D

Here is Kendalls website for those sps corals, he deals through distributors but will sell direct to DRC members. http://www.coraldirect.com/

thanks GEBC, 2 sounds good, I don't know how I'll even use that much, but it's too good of a deal to pass up.

Its a great deal even Phosban is about $14 for 150 grams, this is over three times the Iron oxide(455 grams) for $10 (thats less than 25% of the price of phosban, not to menton the price of Rowa), My reactor holds over 1 Lb so I am stocking up.

I just received a 3Lb sample of this generic RowaPhos from Kendall’s, it appears to be an identical to the Rowaphos just as Kendall had promised (it is a wet media exactly like Rowa), if you are interested in running a RowaPhos type product, you will not find it for this price anywhere.>>>>>>>>>>>Jim K

Please put me in for 1 lbs.

I have a number of new never been used reactors from small to jombo size for $25 -$45 or best offer. I will post pictures of these reactors as soon as I could find the battery charger for my digital camera.

If you have corals soft, hard, sps we could trade.

Thanks

This article may help some people decide if they want the generic Rowaphos. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/june2004/review.htm

I just spoke to Kendall, He thought our meeting was next monday and there is a seven day lead time on the Generic rowa, I placed the order anyway for next monday, I can either bring it to the following meeting or you can pick it up from me if you need it before that, Kendall had wanted to come to our meeting anyway to discuss other possible discount DRC purchases of corals.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jim K

in my last I mentioned I am in for 1 lb but forgot to ask how, where and when for me to pick up. Could anyone clue me in.

Since it is such a good deal @$10/lb I would like 2 lbs intestead of 1 lb.

I do have a numbers of new reactors and I could bring the reactors meeting place if any one interest in them.

Grossr, kendall is in the process of moving to a new home and is in the process of moving all of his tanks also, he is planning on attending the monday DRC meeting, David, I placed the order and I should have the Rowa in my hands by june 27th, I can bring it to the next DRC meeting in july or if you need it sooner we could make plans for a pickup >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jim K

Just for the heck of it I weighed a 250ml container of genuine rowa phos, 250ml=1/2lb, the price sticker on the 250ml box was $29.99, thats just about $60 per pound, the generic rowa ($10 per pound) is one sixth of the price.

Guy/Gals,

Please be careful and take it slow. If you have high PO4 and lower too quickly and you keep SPS you may cause bleaching. I recommend that you go and purchase a low range phosphate test kit from LaMont (63.00). Check the SPS keepers forum
for more info. I do not want you guys losing SPS that one day can be fragged, traded and put in my tank.

Regadrs,

Walter

The generic Rowa arrived today, it appears identical to Rowa Phos in every way except for the price. If anyone needs it before the meeting you are more than welcome to come pick it up. I have only 6 Lbs that are not spoken for.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jim K
