i built my new hood and put screw type flourescent lights and 2 36" acintic total watts 240 will this work for softies or not ?

Those screw type flourescent lights are pretty bright but are the wrong color spectrum - in case you notice problems later on.

mucho, mucho algea. You need to stick to the bluer end of the lighting spectrum. Are you talking about screw-in power compacts like the kind that go in a regular socket, or the twist in sockets like in an office ceiling fixture?

Sorry to have to say it but mark is right + it is not a good light
for your coral.hope you have the best of luck with that but afraid
you will have a lot of problems with those
you need the PC not the regular fluorescent.
the lighting most people have used successfully is either
1-MH 2-VHO 3-PC
