group buy on chiller?

I might be able to get the JBJ Artica 1/5 hp chiller for $499, maybe even a little less. I'd have to get about 6 of them to get the deal. Is anyone in on it? I've seen them retail from anywhere to $550-$700. Let me know if you're interested.

Madison, is the 1/5 big enough for 300 gallons? 200 in the tank and 100 in the sump?

I don't know, i'd have to find out. After looking around it seems several places have them for less than $600 and a few for $550. So the savings isn't all that great but we wouldn't have to pay any shipping. I'll find out tomorrow and let you know.

I haven't had a problem with temp yet, even on the hot days we recently had. I'm just thinking ahead for when I upgrade my tank.

You would be best off with a 1/3hp chiller. From what I've heard, JBJ makes an excellent chiller.

I'll have a 1/3hp CSL chiller for sale this weekend. I decided not to take this one with the move since I have another 1/3 hp waiting for me to hook it up in NY.

Will sell it with a ranco dual stage controller. MASLAC member gets first dibs. $400.

This is the one on the outside. a little rust on the case\housing. It is about 2 years old and runs great.
