I'm not sure I understand closed loop. Here's what I think several drains into a pump, then the pump returns to the tank without any sump. This is for circulation only???? I would still need a sump with a skimmer? I'm getting ready to setup a 150 and plan on having two 3/4" sea swirls. Please help if I'm on the right track??????

Thanks
Barry

pretty much what it is. You'll need a sump on a seperate system.

and the drains for the closed loop and under the water level because you dont want air to get into them

So are the inlet and outlet holes the same size and how many should I have on a 60X24X24 tank. What size ending holes should I have????

Thanks for your help

depends how big of a pump you are running... On an ampmaster 3000 i would run 2 1.5" inlets and probably 4 1" outlets of 2 1" and 2 2/4" outlets... thats how my friend has his set up and it works well...

you want to make sure that you are not starving the pump for water.. thats the important part!

Inlets going into tank 2 @ 1.5", Drains back to pump? 4 @ 1", right? Shouldn't it be equal, the same going into the pump as going out??????

Thanks
