I purchased 200lb sand from Dan in mountain home and looked
over his setup he's building a homemade tank and slump and
homemade calcium reactor look forward to going by and c
it up and running that is on my to do list after he gets everything
running.
want be long until I can start to put the 55 together almost
got everything I need :D

O recommendations for sump size would help out probably just
check out small used tanks and petition in 1/2 put heater
and skimmer one side sand a little rock and micro on the other

What kind of sand is it? Live?

Do you already have a stand for your 55? I'd go as large a sump as you can get under there. For my 135g, i have 50g of sump/fuge.

if you have the time a custom sump would be cool jerry with baffals and a fuge, compartmets for a skimmer and what not, nice and space efficent...

you are right about that roy just going to be short $$$SSS
so probably just start with a small used tank and replacing it
later
I've got 2 pickups with over 200000. miles on them
to upgrade this summer iv got 3 Jobs starting up
in a few weeks with about 100 mile drive ever day
don't want to have the help breaking down ever day

How many overflows will you have?

Here is a design for you to consider, that's if you have 2 overflows. You would have 3 compartments rather than 2.

1 fuge(DSB, Pod farm, Live Rock )
1 equipment(skimmer,heater,...)
1 return(return pump, toppoff, drips)

If i get a new stand i'll go with this design to prevent me from overflowing either of my 2 tanks i have now.

Glass shop can cut you 2 panes exactly as you request. That's how i made my 30 custom. If you want the top slotted you may just use plexiglass.

Certainly one to consider appreciated
