Hey John!

Have you noticed any difference in the macro growth in your fuge since you changed to the LOA light? My PC bulbs are getting close to replacement and I was checking if the LOA lights from Home Depot would be a better way to go.

I don't really have a good reference point. Prior to the LOA fixture I was using a halogen worklight with a 150 W bulb. Lots of light, but also lots of heat. The spectrum of this light was also very yellow, and I do think it caused some cyano to grow.

The LOA light is a very neat, well-priced unit (aside from the reliability issue). I wouldn't call it superior to a PC fixture in performance (it may be equal), but if you were starting from scratch with no fixture I would recommend it simply on the basis of price.
