Where in Indy are you? I have a 44 cold water tank waiting for a bimac.

I've heard that you have to put a form of astro-turf around your tank to deter the animal from walking out. supposedly this is what larger aquariums do.

thanks

the astro turf method works for Giant Pacific Octopus. This is generally thought of as unnecessary fot this species (bimac). All that is needed is a tight fitting hood as bimacs generally dont try to escape.

PM sent. I've don't use astro turf, actually I don't use anything. Octos "usually" don't leave the tank unless something is wrong. Hungry, poor water, scared allot.

Mine comes to the top of the tank just to be fed, then retreats to the corner right side of the front of tank to watch me or one of my other tanks, not sure what he's watching, but he's not skittish at all. Tank raised are much better than wild caught IMO for that reason, plus you know he's feeding when tank raised!
