Mr. Borneman

I recently read your "Mything the Point" series, and found it both informative and delightful. I hope to now venture out and change miconceptions people have about reefkeeping.

While reading, I did have one question for you. In part two when you discuss the refugia concept, you say "that most people would see far more crustaceans in a refugium filled with live rock rubble that is allowed to have turf algae grow on it than in the macroalgae and sand dominated refugia that are common today."

This caught my attention. I had always heard that if one allows hair algae to grow in the refugia that it will send spores to the display tank and cause and outbreak of hair algae there. Is this true, or is it another myth?
