Tax deductible donations.

What was the title that the club would need before raffle donations could be considered tax deductible? Also, it was mentioned that it would be hard to change the clubs designation now that we are already established. What about forming a separate identity within the club and letting that identity handle the raffles?

We are a non-profit corporation, but I don't know how donations work or how to claim them.

Your probably talking about a 501(c)(3). It's a type of non-profit organization. I am not sue if your society would fit into this designation but if not this one then another type of non-profit designation would probably fit. PM me if you need some help with this.
