actually im gonna put a auqaclear 300 filter on the nano and that will be its own fuge, and maybe get something for the 20 gallon if i buy a stand for it, and make a different one for its fuge

Well, I always take a few pieces and put them right down on the glass (you'll have to push them down into the sand if you want to do this). I just put them in a random/interesting position and then pour in the sand around them. These serve as a solid base to stack your other rocks up on. I do this mainly b/c there are many things that disturb the sand (clams, worms, starfish, crabs, snails, fish, etc...) and if your whole rockwork is sitting on a layer of sand that some creature decides is in his way, the rock falls over and you have a lovely new soaking wet floor and a bunch of fish crackers b/c they have dried out like jerky on the floor. :D Seriously, though when it's Rock vs. Glass, Rock usually wins.

Anyway, that's what I'd do.

Also, you may want to spread the base out a little wider from front to back than you want the top (a little like a pyramid) so the top rocks have more "footing" and stability. I know that there's not much room in a nano, but every little bit helps.

If I could do it in a 10, you can do it in a 20:

Good luck & happy reefing!

That is a nice tank James. WOW those lights are bright Jason. Let me know when you have it ready for some Zoa's. I would add some snails and some crabs also.

well my newest light went kapoot, and im waiting for them to get more in... i think im gonna go ahead and build me a canopy over spring break (hopefully) and put in 2 of those 50/50 and 2 high powered flourescents... or just 1... not too sure...

you think by the looks of it (thats really how bright it is) it could handle those.. cause i know you guys werent so sure about it earlier

and yes i like that other tank a lot!
