heya guys.. in light of the coming meeting, i thought it would be nice to have a thread devoted to pictures of indianapolis/ indiana reefs. this way at the meetings we will have that much more to talk about, or people we see and admire, and want to seek out.. as well as source for feedback on tank issues -coral placment, scaping, lighting, etc. since we can't all bring our tanks to the meetings.....

i will get some pics of mine up within the next day

GREAT pics, guys! I love seeing local tanks...great thread! Here are a few pics of mine, I have more in my gallery...and a few of my clownfish, as since I can't have children, they ARE my children...

My friends call and ask me how things are going. They get answers such as..."Oh well, the black ocellaris laid AGAIN, but then consumed the clutch AGAIN.....the true's are doing good in quarantine, but the sebae's are freaking insane and I had to cover all four sides of the aquarium because ANYTHING spooks them...." "I meant YOU. The Doctors? What do they say?" "Oh THAT. Same old, same old..." lol

Here is a shot I took today. I need to get my hands on a better camera and take some to update my webpage. I have a bunch of new corals I have added the last few months, especially on the left side. Now I think I am going to sit back and let it grow in this summer.

Fran,

Yea thats what I used. Got a lot more for the $$ than with liverock.. and I already had pleanty of live rock... I was looking for dead rock locally and they wanted like $6 or $7 a pound for lace rock.. so i said no thanks and went with this way.

When i set up my big tank i think i will do the same... maybe 2 or 3 hundred pounds of live rock and 2,000 of hi rock... if i remember correctly 2,000lbs is like $1200 or something like that. And by that time i will be home so I can drive up to L.A. and pick it up! LOL

I like it though... as long as you are not in need of LR its a good deal

Here's one I took a week or two ago. Not the best for detail, but gives you an idea of what I'm working on.

side note - those who are not sure how to post pics, it is best to find a site to host your pics and then link from there. A good one that I use is www.photobucket.com. It's 100% free and only a few limitations - will resize pics larger than 250k (which isn't bad, most sites resize all pics), and 'Currently you are limited to 2500 Megabytes of transfer per month and 100 Megs disk space.' They also don't put anything onto the pic (like their website name)

You just upload your pics straight from your harddrive - it will put the code for Url, Tag, and Img (this site uses the Img). Then all you have to do is copy the Img code under the pic you want to post, and paste that code into the message you are posting like this -

http://img52.photobucket.com/albums/v159/voltatroy/10gnano2.jpg

(I put spaces between the img tags and the url so it would show the code and not the pic)
