It is a piece of scrap plexiglass with 10 Blue LED's w/resistors and a cheapo power supply.
To take the pics, I just stood up 2 short studs and put the LED strip up on it. What do you think of the light output? It is hard to tell without having a tank to put it on :mad2:

hehe, thanks.
I forgot to mention, that in the first pic, you can see there is a little middle gap where there is no LED. That is where the center brace lays when I set it on the tank. Lata!

Thanks a lot Adam!
Here is the breakdown...
Scrap piece of plexi - $FREE.
10 Clear LED's - $1.00 ea.
(Shine SUPER BLUE!)
1 power supply - $6.00
10 resistors - $0.25 ea. ($2.50)
22G wire - $0.95
So about $11.00.
Ian has suggested that I bring it over to give it a try on his tank. This way I can see if I need to swap LED's if it is not bright enough. It is not the prettiest looking thing, but hey, I am sure it works fine. Maybe I will bring it along with me also. This way if it doesn't kick out enough light or whatever, I can swap out the LED's before I put it over my tank :D
