Hi,

I was wondering if anybody has had any success at taking digital pictures of their tanks. I've figured out how to get nice macro shots (you can see some of them here (http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1749144&a=13561977&f=0&vt=vp&pw= ) if you're interested), but I can't get a good pic of my whole tank; everything is all blurry and washed out by the lights. If anyone is any good at this, could we talk about it at a future meeting?

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,
What kind of camera are you using? I have had some success with my Olympus D-360. Pictures I took at Vince's turned out pretty nice I think http://geocities.com/vincesreef ---anyway I think this could be a good topic for a meeting.

some of the keys i've found are as follows:
1. turn off the flash-glass reflects it back at you, overexposing and causing reflections
2. have the glass as clean as possible, inside and outside
3. try to have the camera at 90 degrees to the glass. if shooting macro, set the lens against the glass.
4. top lighting works best; side or back lighting can cause problems.
5. bracket your shots. try an f stop above and below what you think you should be shooting
6. some exposure issues can be dealt with in programs like photoshop, but out of focus problems cannot.

hope this helps. would be an interesting topic for club discussion.
