I need advice on what to do;

my acrylic tank measures 6x2x3ft deep; we moved it about 2 months ago; I noticed today that the top piece of the tank has separated form the front. I am worried that now all the stress will attack the sides; I need advice how on the best way to reattach the top - I've never worked glueing (or reglueing) acrylic before. Thanks!

im sorry to say, but if the tank is full of water and stocked, it should be drained as soon as possible.

I have a friend with a 550 that recently had the same thing happen. He called our local Acrylic guru, he came out, filled the separated part with glue, and clamped it. About a week later, good as new. This is an established reef and was full. It can be fixed, but find someone with experience to help.

RedEye:

Thanks for the info! I got it the day after I bought a new Oceanic 251 gl Megaflow! I posted this in two forums, this and the link listed below; All the acrylic experts told that repairing a full tank would not be successful. I am debating whether to repair it or auction it "as is". Thanks again for the input!
