Does anyone know where I can pick up some base rock for a 125g tank cheap? it doesn't have to be premium or cured, maybe man-made (aragocrete).. i'd rather pick it up in person and avoid paying for shipping charges.

thanks

AquaLife usually has some dry baserock for $2/lb. It is fossilized reef rock, very porus, very light. You can cut it with a saw very easily.

Brain,
Is it that stuff lfs call "bowl rock" or "Utah bowl"? If so O st. carries it for $1.29 a pound.

That Hirock place looks sweet for huge bulk order of that stuff. Less then a $1 per lb with shipping

I picked up about 30 lbs of dry rock at $1.50 per lb at Nemo Aquatics last night. They were very porous and were plane-shaped. This made it easy to bury and hide under the sand bed.

Now onto LR!

Thanks for all the help.

The bowl rock they have at O looks like lava. Normally not a good idea because of potential for high metal content. O street used it in the 300 reef up front. It seems to be doing fine.
