Do we need officers, a board of directors, etc ?

I'll answer this one, at this point no. I'm willing to volunteer as club coordinator until such time that the club becomes established and needs more structure. If people are uncomfortable with that I nominate Stevemc :D .

Agu, as long as there is no money to account for ( dues, etc. ), the informal approach works fine for me. As soon as we have a club handshake or an initiation ritual, we'll need a bit of structure. Just my .02

Structure is overrated anyways.

You could try a raffle if some $ were needed..

Agu, it wouldnt be the first time I got nominated and elected for a club officer, because I acted interested. But I dont think we really need a President, Sec, Treasurer, etc. The only time moneys should be involved would be for a picnic or something like that, and we could either all pitch in or donate whatever it takes. I dont mind sending out email notices or a rundown on last meetings, or letting people know where were meeting, etc. Put me to work!!! I probably will try to butt in and do some stuff. Steve.

I agree with everyone else. I think all we need is members that are willing to have a bunch of people show up at they're house.
Our third child is due in June, so I'll try to host one before that.

It has to be a real cool handshake.

At this time, the informal get-together sounds like a good idea. If the club grows in the future, maybe a formal structure may be needed.

BTW, I like the acronym A.C.R.O.S. :D
