Awesome!!! Keep us updates, what are your future plans how many lbs of live rock and sand are in there?

Nice Tank Good luck

Between the tank and the sump there are 600 lbs. of sand. I tried to get a 4" bed in the tank. I might eventually remove some of the sand from the sump, there is about 5-6" of bed in there.
There are 300 lbs. of live rock in the tank and probably 20-25 lbs. in the sump. I'm planning on doing an sps tank, with some lps and a yellow figi leather. Most of the coral will come from my 80 (sps). I'm real sure I'm gonna end up gettin' more frags.
Thanx for the compliments.

The live rock came from Kevinpo's store in Spokane. Kaelini and tonga branch. I have to agree that it is some of the nicest I have seen, but that is only my opinion!!:smokin:

Wow, once you get the corals in there post a picture, strictly reef any fish?

willis
01/17/2004, 09:48 PM
I hope you can wait a month or two for the coral pics. I am not going to make the same mistake I made with the 80, and that was rush everything. I figure I've got the rest of my life to make this tank look good. If it takes that long, fine, I ain't goin anywhere .

Mrbeachbum2,
Sorry, I hit submit to early. Yeah, I'll have some fish in there. At least that is the plan. I'm hoping to get at least 2 tangs, a goby or two and probably whatever else catches my eye. As long as it is reef safe (?), it has a chance of ending up in there.:D

Yes I agree, like you quote says "Rome wasn't built in a day--neither is a reef. (!!!) good luck keep us posted

is the 30 depth or height? I guess a 24 tall is considered a custom. Where did you get yours from? Thanks for the info.

30" wide by 24" tall
Got it from Mitch @ Interamerican:smokin:

what did shipping cost or you pick it up?

willis
01/23/2004, 07:11 PM
Shipping was about $400, if I remember correctly. That was delivered to my front door, complete with a lift gate. The moving company also had a pallet jack which helped immensely.

I just got done cleaning the glass, and believe me, you don't wanna see any pics right now. I actually can't believe I talked myself into goin thru the cycle trip again. It had been a long time and i had forgotten that this thing is gonna get ugly before the bud finally opens, if you know what I mean. Oh well, I'm sure if I play my cards right, things will start lookin' better after a month or so. If not, I can always go swimming.;)

There is still some hair algae hanging around, but I am gonna put a 75 gallon refugium into the system here this week. My purple tang has been real diligent about trying to help out with the hair. All comments will be appreciated. thanx.

Right now there are 2 blue-green chromis, a yellowtai damsel, banggai cardinal, a bicolor angel and a red sea purple tang. I'd like to add at least an Achilles and Naso tang and some other little guys ie. gobies, wrasses and such.

i made it one month and 5 days!!!!!!!
everything is lookin' good. I'm headed over to Spokane on Friday to pick up some more snails and crabs for cleanup duty. My 75 gallon refugium went online today to, so that should help out also.
Cody, thanx for noticing the time limit, I'll get you on that one :) The price of frags just went up!!!!!

where did you get your refugium. Do you have pics of you filter system.

willis
02/11/2004, 12:59 AM
The refugium is a 75 gallon tank that I broke down a week ago last Monday. The tank had between 80-100lbs of live rock in it so I have used about 30 of it so far in the fuge. Here's a pic taken today after it was put into service.

The reason i ask is because i want to buy a 200g tank but with a prefilter in the middle, so i can put it in the center of my livingroom and be seen from both sides. I wanted to see where can i get a sump with the wet/dry, space to put the skimmer in the sump and have like a good 20g refugium all in one sump. I will not have much space at the bottom of the tank to put many things so i need to squiz everthing and i dont want water lines going from on thank to an other and back.

Do you have a basement? That's an awful lot of stuff to go underneath. It can be done tho.
