What's everyone's proceedure when they add additives?

I usually "mix" up my additives in a glass jar, then add to the sump once a week. I normally add 1/2 whatever the bottle's instructions are (so instead of 1 teaspoon per 50g, I do 1 per 100g).

Today when I added my mixture my anemone freaked out and withdrew into the rock (becoming 1/10th his normal size!), all the corals on top of the reef pulled in their polyps. The fish and lower corals seem fine.

Any suggestions?

I premix my additives and slowly drip them in throughout the night.

I only add iron once every two weeks.

I add based on the readings of my alk and calcium.
Those are two things that I mainly test for regularly.

I add Iodine, B-Ionic and TM Trace elements weekly.

I dump around 4 oz. Iodine weekly, directly into sump
6-16 oz. of B-Ionic weekly (mixed in 64 oz. water, dripped over 1 day), from 2 containers.
4 oz. TM Trace elements weekly, dumped directly into sump.

My RO/DI which dumps into a 55 gal container set with a top off to the sump is also treated.

nts... are you saying that you only add bionic once a week? How much are you adding?
