Well, after adding a Haddoni Carpet almost 2 months ago, one of my pair of False Perc's has finally figured out what it is!
I added the Carpet because a) I wanted one, and b) to motivate the clowns to abandon the overflow as their host. Tonight, before my very eyes, one clown approached it very carefully, appeared to stick very slightly the first time, less the second, and then not at all as it nuzzled up against it. Within a few minutes, it was full-on playing with it with no problems. The female false perc has yet to go near it, so we'll see.
I'm convinced the male went to it because the female has been just kicking his butt for the last couple weeks, chasing him all over the place and nipping at him. Now I think he's got something that's HIS.
Anyway, I just had to pass along the news, my wife is out of town for the weekend, the kids are in bed, and there was nobody else to share with (who could relate that is).
