In the past I have had bad luck with anenomes (never had a rose). I had one eat a Flame angel once and they never seem to stay put. Of course these problem happened when my tank was not as stable (years ago). Now I have upgraded to 3, 250 MHs on my 125 and recently added a DIY kalk reactor.

Is it difficult to keep Rose BTAs and whats the trick for getting them to stay where you want them? Also, I have a large percula who is hosting in my colt (bites at my hand if I get to close) would it be a problem to get a Rose BTA and put in say a black ocellaris to host in it? Do you guys think the percula in my colt would both a black ocellaris if I get it to host in a Rose BTA say on the other side of my tank?

What kind of price amI looking at for a Rose BTA and where could I get one (good reputable source)?

I would perfer to buy it local (2 hr driving distance) so I can see it first and not risk shipping

Do you still need a rose and black percs? I have both. I have over 15 clones of RBTA and 2 ORA raised percs. I have had the roses for over a year.

I should have site updated this week. I have been holding off posting the roses for a year. I have a decent colony now, and should be able to sell about 5 per month. I will probably have small and medium roses available.

Small $60 medium $85

I doubt I will make it to this swap just too dam far.

What would the cost be with one small RBTA and one small black percula? Also what about shipping with this fridged cold I don't know about the risk

Oh yeah

Will a RBTA be ok in my 125 with three 250 watt MH (want to put it at the bottom) and I am running a kalk reactor now (not sure on calcium level right now)?

Cold is no problem, good insulated boxes with heat packs are all you need. Now if they lose your package you are screwed.

$60 rose, $35 for Clown. Shipping roughly about $30-$40 includes box. I would have to check weight and your zip code to be sure.

Should be fine. Like I said I have had these roses for over a year, and the parents were all bought here on rc, from hobbiests that had clones already so these are multi-generational already.

Calcium is no issue for anemones.

WHat are the chances that anyone from Pittsburgh is coming to the meeting and can bring it to me (having paid in advance)?

I don't know. Did any Pittsburghers reply to the swap thread?

I will check

In my experience (one BTA in my first tank), one doesn't choose where the BTA resides, the BTA does. After my BTA settled in (right under my MH), it was a simple matter to move the other corals away from it. Get a small one, they grow, a lot.

I'd be interested in a RBTA if anyone from Pittsburg is heading to the swap.

Worst case if you all 3 are getting one, and no one can transport them for you. Maybe split the shipping cost, and get them all sent to one of you, (preferably one who can pick up at the local airborne station) and split the cost of shipping 3 ways. Then just take the extra 2 roses to the swap next day.

I might jsut wait until the next swap where you are going to Rob, that is if you still have them. The shipping is out for me beinging that I am at school and no one at home could take care of it.

holeinone1972
01/15/2004, 12:02 PM
I maybe in Mid to Late April.

Adam from our club has one of my roses, and his false percs host there. It is not black, but it is the same fish, different color.
