Ok, sorry to post this here, but I don't know who else to ask.

When I use some applications on my home computer like Pinnacle Studio 8 or Corel 11, the "Do You Want to Save" window comes up in German.

I am using Windows XP Pro on a 2.4 P4, 512 RAM, 60 Gig HD, Intel MB, etc.

Any suggestions? It is a getting a little annoying. Anybody see a problem like this?

It sounds like when the OS was installed German was the language choice. If this is true you might reinstall the OS and choose English.

I did the original install since the computer was a bare bones unit when I got it. All other applications like Work, Excel, AutoCAD, etc. work like they should (English Dialogs). It is really puzzling. It's almost like a dll file is corrupt, but which one?

Its most likely you install Pinnacle Studio 8 or Corel 11 in German.

You can check your Regional settings in the Control Panel and see if you have it in English format for your OS. You can also change your Regional settings from there also.

Checked regional settings - are set tp english. If I installed them in German, why would the Save dialog be the only thing in German? Everything else is in English.

Try reinstalling Pinnacle Studio 8 again and see if it did the trick. If not, contact Pinnacle Studio 8 and tell them about your problem. It might be a bug or something in the software. Where did you get the software from? Sound like a bootleg copy, in this case, go out and buy the real thing and you won't have this problem.

Well gee, thanks for assuming it is a bootleg copy! Actually, FYI, it was bought and paid for from Circuit City. I already tried Pinnacle and am waiting to see what they say. But since I am also having the same issue with Corel, I thought it may be a setting in the OS.

Fixed the problem - if anyone else has this problem, i renamed the file "mfc421loc.dll" to "mfc421loc.old". it fixed the problem so far with no ill effects.
