Off topic, but I know a few of you in this forum have Rotties. I have 2 - a male and a female. Our male (6 years old) has just started to limp on his front leg. We noticed he has a lump near his "knee" area. We just took him to the vet today and he is there now. The vet is afraid it may be cancer. I really hope it isn't - he is an AWESOME dog!!!! Just need to vent a little since I'm sitting here at work and all I can think about is him! :(

I don't have a Rott but we have a female Boxer. Her name is Kena. We just had her at the vet today as well. When she gets overly excited she starts to bleed from her nose. The vet thinks she might have some exposed capillaries or a polyp in her nose. They took blood to run heart worm test and they had trouble stopping the bleeding from where they took blood. So now they are going to send a sample to the lab to check her platelet count. Vet said she could have something similar to hemophilia but it was called something else for dogs. If that turns out okay they are going to put a camera up her nose to check it out.

I hope you get good news from the vet, it's always tough when things happen to your "extended" family. Sending prayers over for your pup.

the results came back that the cells from the sample they took of the fluid in benign(sp?) - not cancer. it could be some type of fybrosis (accute joint pain) or a tumor. nothing showed up on the x-rays showing a tumor. guess we just have to wait and see for a little bit to see if the swelling goes down. the wonderful waiting game.

then my great grandmother died on Friday.

I'm voting to skip december next year!!!
