BARE group purchase of live rock

Bare has contacted us with the following message - Our club is putting together a large order of "fresh" live rock. Our club
has noticed of late that most live rock coming in is not as fresh as we have
seen in years past. According to Bob Fenner, Walt Smith and those groups
shipping live rock from the Islands are starting to send the rock via boat
due to shipping costs on air freight.

So, we have gotten a hold of a wholesaler that deals with the Marshall
Islands. He is guaranteeing us 48-hour delivery directly from the ocean.

The price to us is $3.50 per pound. The rock is coming in 35lb boxes. We
are expecting the rock on the 20th, Saturday night. Would anyone from the

Holy Smokes!!!
I will be calling Bob later today to verify that he actually said this, but I doubt it. I absolutely do not bring in live rock by boat. All you have to is come with me to the airport (as most of my customers do meet me there with their trucks) and see the mountain of rock boxes that comes in by air three times a week.
Rumors like this can get really nasty and the truth needs to prevail!

Sorry Walt for the misinformation. I was quoting the message we received from the BARE group concerning their order of live rock. Bob did mention to our group that much of the live rock now entering the U.S. is being shipped by boat as air freight has gotten so expensive. He did not mention your name though at our meeting, sorry for this major misunderstanding. (I originally purchased my live rock through one of your dealers and I could not have been happier) Pam

I myself do not beleive that LR is coming in by boat. You can go to LAX and actually see all these wholesalers picking up there shipments from planes. You guys could have came to me for Fiji, Tonga, or Marshall....
