Anyone interested in going together on an order for marine plants from Hawaii? This company, Rain Garden Ornamentals in Hawaii, has both freshwater plants and Hawaiian macroalgae. I didn't see anything freshwater I wanted at their prices or don't already have, but the macros looked interesting.

What kinda money are you talking??

I'm setting up a fuge soon and need some macro & I'm over in Cuyahoga Falls, so pickup at your place would be pretty convenient.

I'll PM you my phone #, could you give me a ring to discuss this??

Thanks,

This is what they have, I would say pick what you want and then split the shipping costs, which from Hawaii will add something to the cost.

Acanthophora spicifera (green)

(seldom eaten by fish)
$2.00/bunch $18.00/dozen

Gracilaria salicornia

(gold and brown strains - eaten by fish)
$2.00/bunch $18.00/dozen

money plant - Helmedia sp.

(calcarious algae, not eaten by fish)
$5.00/bunch $45.00/dozen

Banggai cardinal fish (Pteragon kauderni)

captive bred
$18.00 each

feather duster worm (Sabellastarte sanctijosephi)

captive bred - a Rain Garden exclusive
$7.00 each

sea hare - (Stylocheilus striatus)

captive bred - a great aquarium janitor

eats cyanobacteria and nuisance algae "fuzz" (e.g. Lyngbya majuscula) - also a prolific breeder supplying minute larvae for your suspension feeders - reef safe
1 inch $10.00 each $15.00/pair

rock-boring urchin (Echinometra mathaei)
$4.00 each

NEW upside down jellyfish (suction cup jellyfish) (Cassiopea mertensi)

captive bred - a Rain Garden exclusive

Perhaps the only jellyfish which does well in a reef or fish aquarium. One-inch in diameter. This jellyfish swims to a surface (the bottom, a rock or a wall) where it temporarily attaches itself like a suction cup with the tentacles exposed. Will occasionally swim about and settle in a new spot.
$4.00 each

feeder shrimp (Palaemon debilis)

captive bred
$3.00/dozen

. feeder amphipods

captive bred
$1.00/dozen

. sea lettace (Ulva)

pond-raised
$5.00/quart

. red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle)

sprouted shoots (tubers) for refugium to export excess nutrients
$8.00/dozen

I might be interested too. My goal is to set up a refugium over the holidays. I live nearby as well.

If you guys could use some plants right now. I won more than I can use at the PMAS Megaraffle in Pittsburgh tonight. Most of the extra is that ever popular Chaetomorpha.
