Intelligent Ballast System for HID and
Fluorescent Lamps

The B400-Ballast™ is a microprocessor-controlled, intelligent ballast system for industrial, private label, and commercial lighting applications. Developed by an International Engineering Company. the B400-Ballast™ product line is a one-to-many solution, one ballast delivers many solutions.

The B400-Ballast™, the first intelligent ballast system, is a global solution.

Universal input voltages (90V to 277V +/- 10%)
Variable output wattages (70W to 1650W)
Drives multiple lamp types (MH, HPS, MV, PS)
Light-weight, less than 4 lbs (1.8 kg)
Small footprint, B400 is 6x6x4 inches (152x152x102mm)

Each ballast includes dimming, thermal monitoring, burn hour readout, timing controls, and a smooth end-of-life shutdown process. With an HID master control unit (MCU), thousands of lights can bemonitored and controlled from a central desktop, laptop, or hand-held computer.

The B400-Ballast™ is an Intelligent Ballast
An intelligent ballast is an electronic ballast with a brain.

An intelligent ballast regulates voltage from any electrical system to deliver all required output wattages. An intelligent ballast incorporates dimming and timing controls, delivers a steady silent output, and prolongs the life of ballast and bulb. When connected, groups of ballasts can work together, or a central control unit can be added to control and monitor thousands of individual lamps.

An intelligent ballast can be used anywhere in the world, will drive any type of HID or fluorescent lamp, and delivers a silent, steady light. No flicker, no hum, no hassle.

Each B400-Ballast™ can be used as a stand-alone device or linked device. The stand-alone model includes a built-in control panel for dimming and monitoring burn hours, thermal output, and energy efficiency.

When linked to other ballasts, the B400-Ballast™ can be monitored individually or as part of a group through a master control unit (MCU). Combined with an MCU and optional hub, thousands of lamps can be controlled and monitored by authorized site engineers using wired or wireless desktop, laptop or hand-held computers.

With the proper security authorization, a site manager can control, dim, and monitor individual and banks of lamps from virtually any place on the globe.

B400: HID Intelligent Ballast
The VB400 is an indoor/outdoor high intensity discharge ballast suitable for 400W-430W metal halide (MH), high pressure sodium (HPS), and mercury vapor (Hg vapor), bulbs. It regulates standard and pulse start lamps.

The B400 intelligent ballast is lighter, smaller, and more reliable than competitive ballasts. It operates at universal voltage inputs (100V ± 10% - 300V) and delivers a silent, steady lumen output.

Prolongs the life of the HID bulb.
Operates at all known electrical currents.
Designed for temperature, humidity, and air pressure extremes.
Minimizes annual operating and maintenance costs.
Meets existing and proposed energy-efficiency guidelines.
With the addition of an HID master control unit (MCU), wired or wireless, site managers monitor and control up to 84 individual ballasts. Add multiple MCU's to manage large-scale lighting solutions.

Up to 84 ballasts can be remotely monitored and controlled through a single HID master control unit (MCU). When networked, either wired or wireless, MCUs enable site managers to control and monitor thousands of lamps from a centralized office or location.
