Helloooo

I've set up my 10 gal and have a lee's skimmer that I will be cutting down to fit in an out side filter(I will remove the filter media). This way I wont lose any room inside my tank.
This will give me some skimming.

My question is how big of a pump should I use and are there any super quiet airpumps out there? I think the skimmer will be 6"-8" high(not including cup).

TIA

i use a berlin air lift - 60 and they are run off of two tetra tec 150 air pumps. i personally think the whole skimmer is worthless for two reasons. number one the cost of the air pumps and skimmer was 60-80 dollars. and for an extera 50 i could of purchased a cpr backpark 2. and would not have to deal w/ all of this hastle. number two the damm airstones clog almostly weekly and need to be cleaned or replaced. @7.99 for three airstones i am going to spend almost 100 dollars a year in replacement airstones. my advice to you go out and purchase a good venturi skimmer. i have been hearing great things about the prizms also just my .02
