Hi all,

I just wanted to start this thread to offer some assistance to aquarists who have a 30 gallon tank, and wonder what fish are appropriate for a tank of that size. I am going to offer some suggestions, and hopefully others will join it :)

BTW, I will have to get scientific names later :D

BTW again, just because all these fish are mentioned, doesn't mean you can add them all. Of course, stocking levels have to be considered.

Here goes:

Clownfish (preferably ocellaris or percula, pair)
Firefish or dartfish/wormfish
Gobies (esp. clown gobies or cleaner gobies)
Clown tang (just kidding to see if anyone was reading :D)
Smaller wrasse species, possibly a six line wrasse
Blennies (midas, bicolor are my favorites)

Any other ideas?

Brian

in my 29 gallon, i have a maroon and oscellaris clown which fight everyonce in a while but is okay so far, and a springeri. i wouldn't suggest going anymore than 3 fish of this size. i also have 2 cleaner shrimps which is pretty cool and a cucumber.

A pair of clowns is max in that size tank imo. If a person wants a third fish a lawnmower blenny would be a good choice. Besides living in a different area of the tank, it'll help by eating algae.
