WARNING I-35 SOUTH Closed tomarrow morning - how to get from ames to Iowa City???

Anybody coming from the north who plans on taking interstate 35 to get to the Greater Iowa Reef Society Meeting in IC will need to find a different route because the interstate is closed untill 11:00 AM - And i suspect traffic is going to be very slow after 11:00 - I need to come up with a different route to get to Iowa City tomarrow without using I35 from Ames- Does anyone know a better way to go??? I think there is a route through CR... I need directions...

From Ames take highway 30 east to highway 380 south, that will take you down to I-80 just on the west side of Iowa city.

I'd take Highway 69 down to DSM then I-80 over like normal. That's prob the fastest way. Not much longer than I-35. Highway 30 doesn't flow very well IMO.
