howdy folks, from Texas! (I never say stuff like that in real life).
Got the nano bug before even reading this site :P. I have a 55 freshwater but live in an apartment and dont want to tear down a 55 saltwater. So what do I do, get a 10 gallon salt:)
I have had it running for about a moth now. So far so good!
Heres the layout.
10 gallon All glass tank 9.99
2x32 watt AH supply PC 105.99
home made wooden hood 25.99
zoomed powersweep 212 13.95
maxi mini-pump 24.95 (retail-doh)
maxi powerhead 19.99
ebojagger heater 100w(never used-doh!) 15.99
Penguin mini-biowheel(retail again "") 24.95
Pirzm skimmer(not using yet, will in 2 months)69.99
about 280.00 for equipment
about 17 lbs of live rock from themarinecenter.com(great stuff& free door delivery)
2-3 inch DSB
So far I have:
1 yellowtail damsel(curious little guy)
1 neon dottyback(funny the damsel runs from him)
1 Kenyi Tree coral frag
4 monti digitales SPS frags - pink and purple
1 green slimer acro frag
1 hairy mushroom anemone - splitting as we speak
1 frag of greenstar polyps
1 frag or red sand polyps
1 frag of orange sand polyps
1 UnIDed soft coral
encrusting blue coral
5 hermits
8 snails astraes margaritas
1 pepermint shrimp
So far so good, its amazing to me that the acro grows sso well in the 2x36 watt PC light. Only complaint I have is that the temp can get into the 88-89 area without a room fan blowing on it, then its at 78-79. I dont use the glass cover, it tones down the lights a bunch.
My girlfriend hates my obseesion shes getting jealouse of the tank and my staring at it. Hey she gets me at nite, I dont think she should be so jealouse
Anyone else have success with SPS? As soon as the algae dies sown(hair) Im gonna try a small Clam, think I could do a maximus?
