The date has been set. Thursday October 16, 6:30 pm. Location TBD (suggestions are welcome!). for our monthly informal chat.

for those of you not familiar with this. This is an open invitation for all to come out and chat it up about our tanks. We randomly pick a day and restaurant/bar, to informally (no dress code:D) get together. All you need to to do is:
A. post to this thread (so we know how big a table to get.
B. Show up

it's as easy as that. You don't have to eat, drink or chat, you can just sit and listen. It's a chance to get questions answered, debate issues, but one thing's for sure it's a good time.

I would like to meet somewhere that has "good beer" also this time. However, most of those are downtown, and Barley's does come to mind. Would a downtown meeting be acceptable? If so, maybe that could be the spot. Nice and centrally located.

I will not be able to attend... :( I already had a function with my son planned, so I'll have to skip this one.

I did also want to mention that there is a Blue Jackets Home game on Thursday @ 7:00 PM. Is should be busy downtown because it is with the Blackhawks and the game is sold-out.

Just want to give anyone that did know a heads-up for picking thier route, timing, parking, etc... Enjoy!

OK lets decide. Northcoast is right. It'll be crazy with the game. do we want to brave it or should we retreat to a quieter place? I'm up for whatever will get the most people there.

Yup, he's right, it could very well be crazy. If we still want to do Barleys we can go to the one on Grandview Ave. and Rt 33 in Grandview. Not as nice, but still good beers and a cool place. Not as close to the arena.

Barley's will be pretty much dead at 7:00 pm. The Arena district bars are pretty empty at game time. Even GB clears out when the game starts. I am in pretty much wherever.

For any people that are new and don't know anyone, I'm a big guy, 6'5" 230lbs and i'll be wearing a greenish sweater on and like brown slacks. i doubt you'll have a tough time finding me in a crowd. Hope you can join.

thanks to all who came out I had a good time. For those who didn't make it I hate to say it but you missed out on a good time. I believe the total attendance was 9.5 with 3.5 being new members and a thanks to John Bowman for joining us and C-Sea secrets to us. looks like we are starting to make progress with these meetings. Except somehow the new guys got out of picking up the tab. We'll have to work on that one:D More details to follow on future meetings

I agree with Szwab. Great meeting. John was an invaluable resource last night. It was nice to hear how one of the successful clubs has managed to stick around for so many years.
