Marcus,

Your stand...It doesn't matter how much wood you put in the middle of the fish tank stand. All the wieght is supported on the outside edge of every tank with trim around the edge. My 29 G stand is only supporting the tank around the edge, it's totally open around the edge.

Anyone else car to chime in?

Well see were Justin drills the holes. When I get my tank next weekend you think I could bring it and my stand over? I may have to do some cutting on it and would like your opinion. If he drills the holes too close to the edge ill have to get a new stand. ill email you a pic of my stand if i get around to it tonight, im finishing up my moonlights now:)

i would love to see a picture of where he drills the tank. 30 gallon tanks are so narrow it's hard to get it looking good. I am curious because I have a 30 gallon in my sun room dry. I have been thinking about using it as my sump.

Well he's got to drill at least 2"s from the edge or it will crack the glass. So you should be in good shape on the stand. I wouldn't sweat it that much.

Does your stand have a flat surface on top or something like that?

Well, you'll just have to line the tank up on the stand and notch it out until the bulk headsd fit...I guess...

Its only 2x4's on the top and the base. I have had the stand for over 5 years. Its pretty solid. Worst case ill have to build a new stand. That pic of that 92 gallont ank in the other post has me scared though.
