Henry;

The website is cool though I find the font hard to read and I have to use the scroll bar to see the right 15% of the webpage. (Anyone know if there is a way to automatically scale the webpages I view to fit my 15" monitor?)

I use the following to handle pictures on my website (take out the extra space between the < and img to get it to work). It shows a 100x100 thumbnail and double click pulls up a 450x450 version. Resting the cursor pulls up a comment which I usually leave as the source file name. I use this to have the same source for the thumbnail as the bigger version though the thumbnails sometimes look odd with those dimensions.

< img src="fwfish/fw_29_gal.jpg" width=100 height=100 alt="fwfish/fw_29_gal.jpg" onClick="javascript:window.open('fwfish/fw_29_gal.jpg','Picture','toolbar=no,menu=no,addressbar=no,width=450,height=450')"/>

hi andy,

thanks for the comments regarding the web site. much appreciated. in regards to the font, sorry it's tough to read. i suspect that is tied together with your small viewing area. i find it fairly asy to read, certainly no harder than any text different than arial or times new roman. i wanted to avoid both of those since they are incredibly over used. i'll considering changing it if a few more people have the same objection. so far i've only heard from 2 people, yourself included, and it is a 50/50 split.

the scrolling i'm guessing is due to the jpg image on the right side. the web page itself is set to scale itself to fit any monitor size. only thing i can think of is the 2 jpg images on the top have a total pixels count larger than your viewing area. we can test this theory by me removing the banner on the right. i'll remove it until i here back from you. please tell me if this eleminated the problem. thanks.

regarding the photos. does it create a smaller, faster loading file for the thumbnails or does it simply shrink the larger image to the thumbnail proportions without reducing download size?

ok, andy, the web site is loaded without the jpg image on the right. does it fit your screen now?

You didn't have to do that just for me! Yes, thanks Henry. Fits on one monitor. I bookmarked it as a favorite. Thanks.

Looks good to me. No probs with typestyle, and I like the layout.
(A 15" monitor, Andy?? Yeesh, and I thought I was behind the times. )

more opinions please. i have 6 people responding so far, and i have 4 for the website, 2 against. i'd prefer to know that the majority like it, otherwise i'll need to change it.

I like the layout, the content and the ease of navigation. But I don't particularly care for the font. I find it hard to read. 'Course, I'm just an old man with failing eyesight...... ;)

how's this ~

2 versions of CIMA. one for eyes older than 30, and one for eyes younger than 30? :p

Looks great to me, but that could be the 20" monitor! I love the color of the links, they match the fish so well. Everything else looks pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of the font, but it's not hard to read. Looks good. :D

You might consider writing an article for a future issue of Reefkeeping. BTW the link is broken

On this page http://www.cimaonline.us/pastmeetings/robduff2003.htm You might want it to open in a diffrent brouser window instead if its self. Other then that nice clean job!

thank crawdad!

i've been trying to do that 20 times over, at least. for some reason it doesn't want to recognize the new window code, and it keeps opening in itself.

it interesting to see that chicagoans are watching us down south :p

Boy...Here I am just getting adjusted to the font, and you go and change it. I appreciate it, but the minority (me) shouldn't out-weigh the majority (everyone else)! :p

Is there a problem with the october link for Robert Duff? I click on the link and it opens the same page, but in a diffrent window. Or is there no pictures of this meeting?

thanks for the heads up! all better now!

not sure what the problem was. somehow the link it opened into got changed. no biggie, easy to fix, and for some reason now it decided to let me open rob's page into its own window, unlike before.
