i started with IO, now using coralife, since it was the only stuff at the LFS and I needed it THEN

I think I'll go back to IO, unless I can find marinemix or natural seawater cheap...

(hehe)

why doesn't some company just start distilling seawater, and send us the remains?

I use IO. I like it never had a problem.

I have an opertunity to get the tops salts from the manufacture along with the additives they sell. email me if your intrested :)
I have a 12case min to order so want it to be worth while.

How big is a case? How much is a case?
I think I'm done with IO. I want my aquarium to thrive for a very long time.

Peace

but the problem with these types of tests is alot of stuff is taken out of context so the publisher can get any point accross he/she wishes. if io employed the person writing it and the same data was produced it would just be rewritten to make them look good. The info might be 100% right on or there might be just a little truth bending going on to make certain companies look better than others. They say buying expensive gadgets wont cure your water quality issues but for some reason buying more expensive brands of sea salts will? sound a little fishy to me. Besides isnt the reason we additives such as kalk, calcium, reef advantage, etc... is because we already know our water is lacking so we supplement it? just my .02

I would normaly agree with you SLS, but I know the owner of the company that makes the salt :) he payed to have the tests ran.

just another option for everyone, I have seen quite a few posts regarding certain salts not working well. but what ever works for you is good :)

but did that owners salt test positively or negatively?

JnS

positive, because they used the S-15 report to make new salts that are better.

I know I am going to try it, adn I know others have contacted me to try it. so I guess we will see what it can do :)

yeah my point isnt to bastardize companies, but to just say dont beleive everything you read if IO paid for the test maybe this other guys salt would have tested negatively.es just alot of biast opinions that go into these results for one reason or another. But good luck, me i havent had a problem with IO yet so I guess thats where my money will go. (and maybe less money on salt so i canm buy more frags to fill the tank) hehe. good luck. i hope it works well.

well I have used IO, KENT, crystal sea, coral life
if I had a choice of which to buy first it would be crystal sea, second coral life, then IO, then last resort would be KENT.

once I find a good salt this time, I am going to stick with it! :) lol!

Thanks for postng those links. I was satisfied enough with the reputation of IO so I never really read into salts much.
There was a big salt debate with Dr. Shimek like 6 months ago. I found out then that IO wasn't very good. A few people swapped to Crystal Sea BioAssay Marine Mix from IO and had a bad chem. reaction that killed and bleached corals.

Did you see how much copper was in there?? WOW 12x as much as NSW I think.

are you sure you don't want to try one of these salts?

I've never had a problem with IC or Reef Crystals, the only two I've ever used, but with the way things are growing in my tank, I have to stick to Reef Crystals
