Greetings SEASL friends,
In our efforts to improve communication and promote SEASL, Gary Duke, Kevin Carpenter, and the executive officers have been working diligently to upgrade our technology. Specifically, we have been working on major revisions to our web site and implementation of a new SEASL email list. Kevin Carpenter is hosting both applications and is providing us with the new email list application.
The web site construction continues on a daily basis. While it is not quite ready, it looks great! Gary has been doing a great job. We’ll talk more about it at the meeting this Saturday.
We are ready, however, to roll out the SEASL email list application. This is a much more automated application than we had in the past. You are now invited to subscribe to the new list. Here are a few points to keep in mind:
1. The subscription process is automated. As part of the process you will be given several options to configure your personal settings.
2. As part of the subscription process, you will be sent a confirmation email. YOU MUST RESPOND TO THAT EMAIL TO COMPLETE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION REQUEST.
3. If you respond to a posting, and you want your response to go to the entire list, you must use the “reply to all icon in your email application. If you use the “reply icon, your response will be sent only to the person who sent the email.
While we have done some testing on this application, we aren’t professionals. If we run in to a few bumps, please be patient while we work them out. If all goes well, we will discontinue the seasllist@seasl.org list on October 31, 2003.
Please follow this link to subscribe. http://mail.seaplace.org/mailman/listinfo/seasl
If you have any questions, please contact me jjcraig@charter.net or Scott Johnson STLscuba@yahoo.com.
Sincerely,
Jim Craig
