View Full Version : New Fuge on 55 FOWLR

Just set up the 20 I had laying around as a fuge for my 55. I'm looking for a glass top anyone have one around. I will be picking up a PC light for it also the light I had is not going to cut it. I have my 10gal fresh under it.

Hey Bob,

I got my glass top for my 20 from Ed. I think he has a bunch of them from his display tanks

I picked up that yellow clown goby he had hanging around for a few weeks. The guy across the river had some stripped clown gobys Im going to check and see if you can keep more them 1 in a tank. I think they a cool little fish.

Hey Bob,

Did you get a pc for that yet?

As far as clown gobies, they are very easy going until you get another one in the tank. You may be able to mix a yellow with a green, but not two of the same. They need to eat a little bit a couple times a day. Mine slowly starved to death because the other fish hogged all of the food at feeding time.

No PC yet. I have 2 - 20 watt florescent that I had laying around. I might try it with this lighting for a while and see how it does. 40 watts should be good the tank is shallow. I put the goby in the fuge so he would not have any trouble competing for food. This guy is small. I put a yellowheaded jawfish in there with him. I am going to take some sand from my other fuge and seed it to get some pod action going this weekend.

The only bad thing about fish in your fuge is that leaving the lights on 24/7 will stress them out.

I don't leave my lights on 24/7. I did on the 125 and it killed all but about 4 strands of that purple micro algea that I had. The stuff I got for you. I only leave them on for about 16 on the 125 and 14 on the 55 FO. Everything is growing good. I dont have much in the 20 fuge yet. About 8 lbs LR and some grape caluerpa and a strand of that mexicana or what ever its called, they stuff you gave me.
