I am getting 150 pounds of uncured Fiji live rock this week and I need to find a cheap skimmer to rent or buy to cure my rock.

Can anyone help?

Sure, you can rent this big one I have. It's not a cheap skimmer, but it is not being used now. I have a small one or two around also that I picked up used, the more the merrier, when you're dealing with rotting sponges.

How is the curing going? With the big skimmer and the surface area of the plastic pool, do you think the time will be shortened a little? Have you seen any mantis shrimp or pistol shrimp yet?

So far so good. All that I have found were a few dead worms. I just finished scraping some black dead spunges off the rock.
I checked the ammonia level and it was between 0.0 and 0.2. It was hard to read, but I pulled out some of the rock to inspect it and a few peices really stunk. Its only been a week so I'll check it again Saturday.

Kris, I have today (FRI) and Saturday off. I think I ordered more snails than our conch can eat. It's supposed to show up today. Could you use some snails to help clean up that new live rock?

We didn't get as many snails as we thought would be sent. We ended up with a different algae crew package, same price. The fighting conch can eat about two turbos/astreas a day, so we are going to need the ones we got. Thanks.
