Has anyone ever gone fishing in Rocky Point? Either fishing offshore (with rod & reel) or chartering a fishing boat for some deep sea fishing? If you chartered a boat, any recommendations?

I have fished there many times and as recent as two weeks ago. Fishing from shore will catch you many mexican triggers and a few large wrasse, the problem is most of the fish are small near the shore and will just steal your bait plus you will need a long surf pole to cast any distance. If you want to catch the big fish you will have to go way out of the protected harbor which means a big boat, with the big boat can come with a hefty price tag. About $300 for a day of fishing, that will get you out into some deeper water where the fish are. If you just want to have a little fun and catch tons of Rock Bass and some triggers and maybe a snapper or two then you can go on any of the small boats for a half day for about $30 a person. They provide everything for you, bait & tackle and most guys clean the fish for you as you catch them. I always reccomend seeing the boat they are going to take you out on first before coming to an agreement, most of the small boat don't have bathrooms so if you taking kids or ladies it can be difficult for them to hang it over the side. Good luck and have some fun, if you ever really want to go fishing for the big stuff - Cabo, there is a direct flight from Phx daily that runs around $200 round trip. You won't find any better fishing then that, and so close and cheap to get to.
