I have heard the company is good to work with.

IMO: By the time you upgrade the bulb from the kit and add reflector, it really doesn't save you much ( if any ) vs. buying a PFO retro from premiumaquatics or other MO. A PFO ballast is in a better housing then the ballast from them althought the guts of it are the same. Plus, there choice of bulbs to upgrade from isn't the greatest for example no 10K Uhsio/Hamiliton or 65K Iwasaki option.

I bought the 175 MH kit from them, tossed the 4000K bulb in a drawer.

Bought a 10K ushio from Jeff's Exotic for $69.

Total (before shipping) was like $145.

Shipping was fast, packing was VERY good, the box w/o the ballast was VERY well packed.

Only problem so far is the Ushio takes a FEW attempts to start. I have it on a timer for 1pm, and it finally turns on between 1:20 and 2pm on average. Not sure why yet though.

Other then that, I am satisfied. Their bulb lit almost instantly, maybe its the Ushio, I dunno.
