I have 2 neon red mushrooms in my tank that I was given that are bleached in the center, along with a big healthy one. The bleached ones are from a friend that handled them to much due to them falling frequently and being picked back up. This is due to the fact that they are on dice-sized pieces of rock, and the clumsy turbo snails in his tank. The shrooms have been in my tank for 6 weeks with no changes at all.
Are they likely to recover? How can I assist them? Are neon reds especially sensitive?
The tank params are great, with good growth of softies, numerous zos and shrooms, all LPS and even my Maxima clam. The tanks fish are fed lightly, and particulate food is abundant for the corals. Water movement is swift.
They are my favorite shrooms, and I'd like to save them. Any help would be appreciated.
