Loss of color

My puffer in my 55 gallon has turned completely white(hes originaly all yellow). He had ick and some very very small worm like things hanging off him, but we did a fresh water dip and they seem to be gone, but his color hasn't come back, and is is swimming directly into the return hose. My salinty is fine, no nitrates, a little trace of ammonia, but I did a big water change and it is almost gone(probably in another water change). Whats wrong?

How long have you had him?

Sounds like he had a heavy parasite load, and still has. The FW dip will knock of some parasites, not all of them and not all kinds. With a multiple parasite load I would sugest treating with copper, Sea Chems Cupramine is the best IMO.

We have had him for nearly a year. He had a similar case earlier when we got him, but he recovered fine, but now hes not. We'll try the copper treatment. Thanks.
