Turtle Grass Questions

I am setting up a 2.5 gallon dwarf seahorse tank and am wanting to grow turtle grass in it. I am wanting to only put 13w of pc lighting over it. Is this enough light? What kind of substrate should I use? Is it possible to collect turtle grass (I am located in florida)?

Turtle grass grows kind of tall for such a small tank. You might want to check around marshes for a smaller finely branched sea grass commonly called widgeon grass, Ruppia maritima. Should do well in your proposed set up. There are some other sea grasses that do well do that you might be able to find. Best to check with your local department of natural resources as what's legal and not, as some of the sea grasses and some sea grass beds are protected down there.
