NEW!! Ice Cap Elec. 175W/AB 10K MH

I recently ordered a NEW!! Metal Halide setup and I've realized my canopy is too low so there will be too much heat for my center brace. I don't want to risk it and I can't afford another setup for the second side of the canopy. It's my loss, but I just want to keep it simple. Maybe I'll get my self some power compacts.

I HAVEN'T EVEN RECEIVED THE ITEMS YET!!! They were all shipped Monday 6/30 via Ground. If you agree to the purchase I'll ship these items the same day I receive them.

The items are:

Ice Cap 175W Electronic Ballast. It's the new model. The one that powers any bulb and is highly efficient.

Aqualine AB-175W 10,000K Mogul Based Bulb.

Mogul Socket w/Bracket

I'll let them go for $180 + Shipping. The shipping will be cheap because I'll package them in one box (good packaging).

Does this setup include the reflector? I assume it does include everything to light it up, reflector or not.

E-Bay and Hello....No, it does not come with a reflector because I was going to separate my PC's, which have a reflector, and put it in the middle of them.

Ok, that answers a lot. I am going to have to pass on it. What I offered is pretty much an equal trade (considering both ballast are brand new, never used) based upon the prices through the RC sponsors.

rhiggsbear, If I'm not mistaken, you can get the IceCap 430 w/ harness for around 140.00 on E-Bay. Marine Depot has it for 150.00 with the harness.

My ballast goes for around 125.00 on Ebay and 135.00 on Marine Depot.

I'm also including a 70.00 Bulb and a 10.00 Mobul Base w/Bracket.

The only other thing your including is the endcaps which aren't much.

I don't mean to direct this towards you, but I don't want others reading this post to feel as if it's a bad deal for this price.

Remember, all of these items including the bulb are BRAND NEW! I just made a mistake ordering the Metal Halide's. If someone out there is looking for this setup you could probably save some money and time if you get it from me.

I'll throw in OVERNIGHT SHIPPING for the price of Ground. I'll pay the difference. If you get it from one of the other places you'll have to pay for Ground shipping whereas my shipment is already on it's way.

To be fair, you can get the 430 from Ocean Encounters for $137.00, which would bring the total down to $156.00

You may get a 430 on ebay for 130.00 and you may not. You may get a wroking 430 on ebay and you may not.

Like I said. They are very close to being the same price.

One thing is for sure, I would order from a vendor for $159.00 rather than a private party for $180.00.

If you are interested in a trade this is what I have. IC 430 w heatsink and wiring harness. Also included is 1 T-5 46.5" 10,000k bulb with waterproof encaps and standoffs. Also running VHO 36" URI Actinic w/ waterproof endcaps and standoffs. I will also throw in 2 extra sets of VHO waterproof endcaps. The bulbs are only 1 month old. beemer, thanks for the offer but none of your bulbs fit my canopy. My tank is only a 36 inch tank and because of a wood bracket in the corners I only have about 34" of space.

Sorry I had to rain on your parade but I did a lot of research prior to making my offer to you. If my deal was not up to par with your items, I was going to offer cash to make up the difference. But, based upon my research, they were about equal in value.

I believe in being fair when dealing with fellow RC members (the reason I also included a vendor with a lower price on the 430). Hopefully, someone will have a used PC system that they will be able to trade you. I assume you are looking for a retro kit rather than a hood.

I have a Jali 2 x 55 watt PC hood I will be getting rid of here in the next month or two - after I build my hood for my 29. Looks like I will be staying with 5 VHO ran off two 430 rather than 2 VHO & a MH.
