I'd be interested in the calcium reactor, depending on type and condition, if you are parting out.

I am located in Hammond, IN, 2 minutes off of I80/94, 25 minutes from the loop. I am willing to break down tank if someone offers to take all 200lbs of liverock or close to it. Then I can break down the tank and parse it out.

I will sell the K2R Reactor now though since I do not have it hooked up with the PinPoint Monitor(new by the way). That also comes with a 10lb tank and regulator.

If you get a taker on the live rock I am interested in the rest of it dry so don't 'part it out' just yet.

I am interested but not at 3000, and I might be willing to allow you to part out what I do not want, that other people have said they do. problem is your selling used stuff, I bought my 125 with PC's, stand, canopy, and 150 pds of liverock 15 corals and fish, sump, skimmer etc etc on and on for $1000. since the rock alone paid the whole deal. But I have seen a lot of used prices. I understand wanting $3000, I would too but . . . . market will not likely bare it, I am in Iowa. GOOD LUCK either way, just posting I would be interested, email me latter if not sold and you come down. I am really after the tank, stand, light and the rock maybe some other stuff, I want to increase my bioload, and actually will keep this in the basement hooked up to the primary tank my 125, seems backwards I know, I guess precisely why is unimportant.

I have also said I was interested earlier in this thread but you never got back to me for some reason. $3000 is too much though. There's a 240 gallon tank with a lot of extras going for $800 on this board right now so I think wheel is right, the market will not bear $3000. If you can post what you have left (is it exactly what you said you had from your very first post?), then perhaps we can work something out. I also live in Iowa and could drive to get your setup, but again, not at $3000.

Thanks.

please tell me where i can find this 240 u are talking about. i have one month to find a tank at a reasonalbe price so i'd appreciate knowing =)

Netkroozer
everyones right.... $3000 would be nice. but i doubt it'll happen. its dissapointing i know... i sold a nice 55 gallon setup for like $200 and we put like triple that into it. thats just how it goes...

Hey guys listen up. Just because you guys have been able to buy things that someone is basically throwing out, for practically nothing doesn't mean everyone has too as well. If you can't afford this tank, then skip the post, sorry.

I have some very interested buyers for my live rock right now and once I can sell the rock the tank will be broken down and parsed out, but for now, the price is $3000 or something very close for all.

One more time here is what still available for the quoted price:

1 200 gal (7'x2'x2') Oceanic pre-drilled 2 overflow reef tank ($900 new)
1 black Oak Stand($500 new)
1 black Oak Canopy Frame ( no tops)
1 ETS 750 ($450 new)
3 1200 mag drive pumps ($300 new)
1 Mag pump model 7 ($50 new)
1 40 watt Emperor Aquatics UV unit ($200 new)
1 custom acrylic light fixture consisting of 3 250 watt MH, and 4 95 watt PCs ($1300) new (needs new pc bulbs)
1 K2R Reactor with pump, controller, 10 lb tank and regulator ($550 new)
1 50 gpd RO/DI Unit by Maxxima ($235 new)
200 lbs of assorted Fiji, Jakarta, Tonga, and Florida live rock, many completely covered with mushrooms, leather, and crabs galrore($1200 new plus shipping)
1 14" diameter anemone ($100)
1 marine beta (6 inch) ($80)
I racoon butterfly ($30)

I wish someone had offered me this stuff at $3000 when I bought this tank....

I will post to let everyone know if I get a taker on the live rock. Once that happens I will list everything individually. Personally I would be all over the light fixture, it is killer!!!

Again, if you sell the live rock, I am interested in the rest of it. Based on your estimate of $1200 for all the rock, how much for everything without that?

My basement won't be ready until next spring but I wouldn't mind getting the tank and equipment now. I am not saying you cannot get the $3 grand, but that people are looking for something better than a 'deal' when they buy used.

At any rate, let me know!

dellrio
07/01/2003, 02:34 PM
i'd be interested in tank, stand, and canopy for around $600
.. and i base this price off of a brand new 220 gallon for $600 which does not come with a stand or canopy.

jasbin is totally right on when she said peopel are looking for more than just a good deal when buying used.. they are looking for something they cannot pass up.
i understand why u would not want to go any lower simply b/c money invested.. but thats just the way it is... thats why this hobby i for life.... theres no going back... =)

Just tagging along but do have a few comments. 1. 3000 is to much used, don't care how much you put into it. If your looking for that much then post it on e-bay and sell it to somebody who doesn't know any better. Also I don't know why in Chicago would be any different but A. a 72-24-25 inch tank is a 180 gallons B. you can buy it brand new at ThatpetPlace in lancaster for 750$. Not trying to be an A--hole or anything but if you've managed to lie to yourself about the price of your tank what else are you exagerating? no offense but even if you did pay that much for what you have listed new don't think someone else will be!! 235 dollars for kent Max 50 G RO\DI? Brand new at my local fish store no less for 185!!! and it produces 60 GPD

i agree ebay is a good idea... lots of suckers on there...
God knows when i was new i made the mistake of paying $400 for my 125 gallon w/ extras... and then driving 12 hours to pick it up.... cost way too much in the end.. but even then ive seen 200g setups fully stocked w/ all the extras not pass for more than $2000 on ebay...

but u can give it a shot

My God! Someone is just trying to get back "part" of their initial investment! They are right, if you don't want it then move on. You don't have to say. . . errr. . . type a word. I personally am not interested in the package and was just browsing the different posts. If not for all the whiners I would have clicked "back" and kept browsing but enough is enough. IF YOU DON'T WANT IT OR THINK THE PRICE IS HIGH THEN JUST LEAVE THE POST. Let the person try and get some of the investment back without others steering people away!!! I am sure you would expect the same. GOOD LUCK WITH SELLING YOUR TANK! If you decide to part it out I would be interested in the Ca reactor.

BB,

My 9 year old son is better at math than you. One more time for the mentally challenged. 7' x 2' x 2' is not a 72 "" tank, but rather an 84" long tank. Guess what calculating liquid volume on that tank comes to ???208 gallons (less the overflows which makes it a 200 gallon tank)! Remarkable.... isn't it. And guess what else for your information. Go price a new Oceanic 200 gallon double pre-drilled tank. It is not $720, thats for sure.

If you are interested in the tank, all I can say is make an offer. Like I said before, no reasonable offer refused.

I'm a man who is willing to admit when he is wrong!! and sir I stand corrected. I apologize Imissed the 7 foot thing when I read it before and thought you were talikng about astandard 180 oceanic. A 200G custom oceanic! I bet that did cost you at least 900 as a matter of fact were did you buy that tank!! I am in the market and looking at a standard 180 RR with two extra holes and i was quated at 950. Again sorry I read your poat wrong hell if you weren't so far away I would purchase the tank from you if you were parting it out. Goodluck barry

Reefyguy,

I really don't want to parse out corals. They are helping sweeten the deal for the person who wants the live rock.

I do have an awesome, huge ritteri anemone, that I will parse out. He just hangs out and I have had it for about 5 years. It eats good, and is just beautiful in the current and lights.

I would let him go for $80 with a large piece of Fiji he is attached to.

Remember you need strong current and lots of MH lights to keep this guy happy, and lots of shrimp as well. He eats better than me for heaven's sake!

The pictures are a little fuzzy. The lights I think were messing with the camera a bit. But in any case you can get the general idea of the tank.

I know you are trying to sell the whole set up, but if you end up parting out I am looking desperately for an ETS skimmer for my 180. Please keep me in mind if you do part out. I just broke up my 75 so I know what you are going through.

I went to see this set up today and purchased 100 lbs of live rock, all I can say is I WISH I had 3000 to buy everything. This is a great set up and an amazing value. Eveything was top of the line and the light is beautiful. Congrats to the person that ends up with this amazing aquarium. Thank you to netkroozer for great live rock at a great price!

Franky,

My fixture is made from acrylic and fused together to make this one of kind light. It houses 3 MH 250s and 4 -95 Watt PCs all cooled by two fans on either side. Therefore I cant part with just two MHs as you had posted. Let me know if you are still interested.

Any takers on the liverock? See pics for show piece size availabiltiy?

Tank, Stand, reminant of a canopy(no lids), light fixture, UV, misc powerheads(some large), misc test kits, sand, and salt. All for a mere 1400. The rest is gone so please do not inquire about it.

Best of luck to highest bidder.:wavehand:

netkroozer,

For nice used equipment, where the seller is not just trying to dump the equipment, you should get $0.40 to $0.50 on the dollar. Don't let folks talk you into anything else on the BB. There are quite alot of people here that expect stuff for free and/or think if they bother you long enough you'll break. Just ignore them and put them on your black list for the next time to sell or want to buy.

Happy Reef'n Sorry to hear you're getting out.
