I just got through setting up a 35 hex tank that i got from Mickey. It only has sand and water in it. I put 50lbs of southdown in and took 15 gallons of water from my 150. I filled the rest with fresh salt water and put in a heater and power head. Now the wait for the skimmer and light i bought. Then i will just need some live rock:) I will post picture once its completely up and running.

Congratulations! I can't wait to see what you and Colleen end up doing with the tank. No matter what it is, I'm sure it's going to be beautiful.

I assure you it's the photographer that was crooked not the tank! LOL My battery went dead before I could get a straghter shot. Notice the two pieces of live rock Paul gave me!

Paul put a coat of stain on the stand, and it looks brand new. Not that it was in bad shape before.

The Bak Pak skimmer came today, its up and running. Monday the 96 watt power quad will be here and Tuesday the rock should be here. I ordered a 46 pound box of Walt Smith Figi rock I will be curing most of the rock in the basement in a rubbermaid tub and a berlin skimmer that i am borrowing from a friend. I figure between 2-4 weeks of curing.

bills what bills Yeah thats what I was thinking, but I don't think I'll be that nonchalant when the electric bill comes....new tank....new halides auggggghhh.....

Mickey I am very excited about the new tank. Still a bit undecided as far as what to keep in it, just want to do the right thing. Thank you again.

lol,,, i hear that...:strooper: it's nice though, whatever you do with it,,,, and just think it's a trade off... halides = high elec. but fish = low medical (blood pressure and all)
