View Full Version : Blue Damsel vs flatworms?

Does anybody have a tank that has a blue damsel in it, yet got a flatworm infestation? I have a refugium of sorts that keeps getting infested, but the worms never show up in the tank itself. I tried squirting a couple of flatworms in with a turkey baster, and sure enough the blue damsel gobbled them down.

Hi Salt Creep:

Not surprised that your damsel chowed on the flatworms thrown into the water column. Then again, not all damsels will pick at the same if they're barely moving on substrate (less if they're on coral).

Many have joked about the individual temperaments of fish. Gustatory inclinations would seem equally individual :)

Oh yeah: I do keep lotsa damsels, and have no flatworm problems. I refuse to draw a direct connection though :)

Thanks for the response, horge.
I guess I'll try to catch the damsel, and put it in the refugium and see if it picks the flatworms off the substrate.
