Hi, I have three Bangii in a 110 reef aquarium. Two of the three seem to be paired and the third is a loner. Anyway, one of the two that stay together is slightly larger than the other and seems to be keeping something in his mouth. The lower part of his mouth is enlarged and he never realy opens his mouth or gills very much. Does he have a clutch of eggs or fry in there? If so, what is the next step for me if I want to try to raise them? Do you know of any on-line resourses on this subject? By the way I have done a lot of research on breeding clown fish lately because I have a mature pair of Tomatoe clowns that are laying eggs. I have a room set up with all the extra tanks and supplies I need to grow them out, complete with green water, rotifers and brine shrimp. Thanks.

Hi:
Rods hit it right on the head....(thanks Rod =^>)
It sounds like you got a male holding fry.
The articles at http://www.eparc.com/banggai/banggai.shtml
will give you more than enuf info on what to do next.
Last point....the loner fish you describe, is a male...either get him outta there or move him in w/ a new female in a new tank...either way, you best bet in the long run is to remove him.
congrats and good luck

Hi Frank, I just got word from another hobbyist that an Article thaty I submitted to Don Dewey, way before he passed, was finally published in FAMA. The article is so out dated, it makes me wish I had time to do a follow up. I dont know why I am posting this here.. I guess I just wanted toi boast a bit ;)

Rod:
congrats...
yes i knew your article was going to be published soon. Thank eric B for this one, he pushed it along.
Congrats, and please do boast. Its always nice to say we knew you when.
You beat me. I also had my articles submitted to both aquarium fish mag and FAMA. Both places sent me nice letters stating its an overdone subject.
Hopefully you'll get paid for this, and any photos you submitted you will also get compensated for.
Can't wait for the read.
