It appears to be a species of Ulva.

The top pic appear to look like a Sargassum. Looks like a species in CA, USA that grows in the tide pools there. One of the nicer Sargassums IMO.
Take a blade out and take a close up of it. No way to tell from this distance.

As Bill said, Ulva on the bottom. If you found this close to home there are many books on Marine plants of the Med sea region. Very popular place to do macro algae research.

How do like that, the top pick didn't load when I was posting last night :eek2: I'd be interested in seeing a close up of that top macro as well ;)
